The Bees

Actual Honey comes from ten hives across two apiaries in North Yorkshire, at Marton-le-Moor and Kirk Hammerton.

Only the honey the bees can spare

Actual Honey is made from the surplus honey of the hives. The only honey taken is the honey the bees can spare: they need their own stores to see them through the cold winter months, when there's no forage available.

The bees are descended from Buckfast queens and have a very gentle temperament, which makes working with them a delight!

Apiary

Marton-le-Moor

A North Yorkshire village surrounded by beautiful gardens and arable farmland, with plenty of crops and flowers for the bees to visit.

Apiary

Kirk Hammerton

The second apiary, in the North Yorkshire village of Kirk Hammerton, where the bees forage the gardens and farmland around the village.
